Trump and Elon. MAGA Michele and Winifred.

When Donald Trump and Elon Musk swung the budget axe through DOGE, it was never really about government efficiency — was it? Even then, it was clear. Now, it’s undeniable: the so-called campaign to “cut waste” was an ideological crusade against federal agencies conservatives have despised for decades.

While MAGA cheered, the rest of the country watched in disbelief as the damage spread.

Cuts to the National Institutes of Health gutted Ohio’s research funding — Case Western Reserve University alone lost more than $100 million. Medicaid and SNAP food assistance were slashed. Veterans at the Stokes VA Medical Center faced reduced support. Food banks across Northeast Ohio lost funding — and the ability to feed the hungry.

While University Heights residents protested those destructive cuts, MAGA Michele took notes.

In her own DOGE-style “First 100 Days” plan, she’s promised to carve more than $1 million from the city budget. And her octogenarian hatchet-man — the hand-appointed council member Winifred Weizer — will be the one swinging the blade.

She won’t say where the cuts will come from. But if history is any guide, it’s not hard to guess.

Michele and Winifred have both shown open hostility toward the University Heights Fire and Police Departments. Every year, those departments are forced to fight just to keep essential staffing, training, and equipment. If elected, Mayor MAGA Michele will finally let Winifred live out her fantasy of slashing the police budget — and even deeper cuts will fall on the fire department.

Winifred has already publicly insulted Fire Chief Robert Perko. Under their leadership, the department would face reductions in staffing, training, and gear. Michele would applaud — it’s been her dream to replace a professional fire service with unqualified and incompetent volunteers.

And when they’re done with public safety, they’ll move on to the Service Department — the people who keep the city running.

Michele has already tried to cut health benefits for city employees, only backing down when confronted by outraged residents at a public meeting.

Because bullies — whether in Washington or University Heights — always back down when someone stands up to them.

Racist AF: Trump and MAGA Michele

Donald Trump, the spoiled son of a New York slumlord, has been racist his entire life. Instead of rejecting him, MAGA Michele Weiss embraces him—and imitates his worst behavior on City Council.

Trump has tried to whitewash American history, attacking the teaching of slavery in schools and exhibits in museums. MAGA Michele followed his lead right here in University Heights.

In 2024, she voted to slash funding for the city’s Juneteenth Celebration, even supporting replacing it with something she called “Diversity Day.” Only after residents packed a council meeting in protest did she back down. Bullies tend to fold when they’re confronted.

But in 2025, she was at it again—eliminating the dedicated budget line for Juneteenth. The city administration salvaged a smaller event only by cutting other community programs.

Make no mistake: if MAGA Michele ever becomes mayor, Juneteenth in University Heights will disappear. And, like her ally Sheri Sax, she’ll push to end the tradition of flying the Pan-African flag to celebrate the end of slavery.

MAGA Michele’s record is clear. Her values mirror Trump’s—and they are racist, divisive, and dangerous for our community.

Proud to be MAGA — Until Voters Turned on Her

MAGA Michele Weiss has never hidden her loyalties. She chaired the local Republican club and led Donald Trump’s campaigns in 2016, 2020, and 2024. Her Facebook page, now freshly scrubbed, sang Trump’s praises.

Her MAGA love might play in Strongsville. But in University Heights? Not so much. In 2024, 70% of our neighbors voted for Kamala Harris. When called out by local Democrats, MAGA Michele didn’t back down—she doubled down, defending Trump on local TV and right-wing radio.

This isn’t reasonable John McCain conservatism. This is mean, divisive, MAGA politics. And voters know it. On Facebook, Michele even admitted a resident told her directly: “Since you’re MAGA, I can’t vote for you.”

Seventy percent of University Heights residents agree. Michele’s values are Trump’s values. She does not share our community’s values.

Can We Just Get Along?

Donald Trump has made a career out of dividing people. Unless you’re one of his sycophants, he brands you as the enemy. He thinks in absolutes—like a Sith Lord—and his “my way or else” attitude has held America back.

MAGA Michele Weiss has the same problem.

She talks about “getting along,” but the record shows otherwise.

She opposed Susan Infeld when she was mayor.

And because she can’t control him, she constantly clashes with Mayor Michael Dylan Brennan.

It’s not just the mayors. City directors have walked away rather than keep dealing with MAGA Michele. Along with her ally Council Member Win Weizer, she’s driven off an alarming list of leaders, including:

Economic Development Director
Susan Drucker

City Engineer
Joe Ciuni

Service Director
Jeff Pokorny

Assistant Service Director
John Puccella

Law Director
Luke McConville

Housing Director
Geoff Englebrecht

City Prosecutor
Stephanie Scalise

And her fights don’t stop there.
MAGA Michele has picked Trump-style battles with:

John Carroll University students

John Carroll University athletic department

The pattern is clear: like her hero Donald Trump, MAGA Michele just can’t get along. Her combative temperament doesn’t just make public meetings unpleasant—it holds University Heights back.

University Heights deserves better than endless division.
